2018 Manchester Open – Monday August 6, 2018

Amateur Seth Jainchill from Keney Park GC won the 2018 Manchester Open with a -7 (64),  becoming the only the 3rd amateur since 1946 to win the overall title.  Amateur Greg Horvath from Manchester CC posted a 4 under (67) to finish in second place overall in the event.  Greg held the clubhouse lead for most of the afternoon during the amateur tournament before Seth came in with his career round including 8 birdies and one bogey.
Manchester’s Jeff Dolin posted a +2 (73) to earn the 2018 Senior Amateur title matching cards while Michael Harder won the Super Senior title with a +6 (77) matching cards over Timberlin’s Al Germano.  There were 140 amateurs in the field on Sunday.
The Professional tournament had a field of 52 players competing for the 1st place prize on Monday August 6th.  Maryland’s Eric Egloff, Geno Giancola from Timberlin GC and Brad Adamonis all posted 3 under (68) to earn a spot in the sudden death playoff for the 1st place check.
Egloff prevailed with a Par in the 2nd playoff hole to earn the $2,500 1st place check in the Professional division.
Eric, Geno and Brad all finished tied for 3rd place overall at (68) 2017 amateur champion, Chris Ayers and professionals Jason Thresher, Dustin Bride and Paul Pastore all finished in a tie for 6th overall with 2 under (69).
The tournament is held over 2 days with amateurs playing on Sunday and the Professionals playing on Monday.
The Manchester Open has been held at Manchester Country Club since 1946 with past champions including first time winner, Tommy Armour.  Other notable champions include Julius Boros and Dennis Coscina.
